Passport To Work
A National Nottery Project which has now finished
Learning Groups:
Designed in particular Long & Short Term Unemployed, people suffering from Physical or Mental Health issues, although anyone can attend the programme, there is no restrictions.
Aim:
Create a programme of training and activities which enables the learner to gain both some skills and knowledge which either essential and/or contribute to the learner’s portfolio and enhance their chances of obtaining employment. The 'Passport' also shows potential employers a willingness to learn and ability to work hard to achieve something.

How:
The programme is called “Passport to Work” and it is a series of modules which the learner can attend and achieve a level of competence. The modules are a mix of basics, work related practical, & employability skills
Modules:
Basics: Improve your English, Practical Maths, Basic I.T.
Work related practical: Health & Safety Awareness, Fire Safety, Manual Handling, COSHH, Electrical Safety, Level 2 in Food Safety for Catering
Employment Skills: CV and Cover Letter Creation, Application form, Job Spec matching to Skills, Interview Techniques, Confidence Building and Assertiveness
Course duration:
Course duration depend on the demand for the particular topics, these can be 1 day, 2 half days or a couple of hours over a number of weeks.

Certification:
Each module has a quiz to test understanding and a certificate is awarded for each module. At the end of the programme, the collective certificates are effectively the 'Passport'.
